Workshops - 2010
WORKSHOPS
that WORK!
I will be offering
other workshops besides those listed below, so check the website
periodically
or notify me if you'd like to be on the mailing list. In most workshops,
painters of any subject matter and at any level are welcome. Others are specifically
for pastel. Please don't hesitate to call if you are interested in organizing a class in your area.
Each Snake River workshop attendee should consider the option of coming early for a day trip to Yellowstone National Park prior to the beginning of the workshop, or extending his stay for a day trip to Jackson, Wyoming and the beautiful Teton Mountains. Jackson is a town of wonderful art galleries and both Yellowstone Park and the Jackson area are full of photo opportunities.

Snake River Workshops - Idaho Falls, Idaho - The class scheduled for Idaho Falls in June has been rescheduled for July 15th ~ 17th. Sorry for any confusion. Please email or phone if you wish to participate in the July workshop.
Painting Dynamic Landscapes from your Photograph
Eyepath, focal point and harmonious color usage will be stressed. This workshop at Cherry’s home studio will also accept artists using oil or watercolor. We will be painting both in the studio and outside, but emphasis will be on skills that you must have to make good use of your photo references. Individual help is always excellent in Cherry’s classes as workshops are intentionally kept small.
$275 / person ( a non-refundable deposit of $75 will hold a space in the class - the $75 is deducted from the total tuition.)
You may pay a deposit with a check to:

Skills for Dynamic Paintings - Any medium
This workshop concentrates on the skills needed to critically analyze your subject matter
and plan your background before you begin to paint. We will discuss eyepath, composition,
effective use of calm areas, the use of soft or “lost” edges, color harmony and color
temperature. You will learn to better evaluate color and determine what color will help lead
to your focal area and give it punch! Helpful for every painter!
Cherry’s workshop will accept beginner through advanced students. A complete
material list is available upon registration. Early registration cost per student is $275 with a non-refundable deposit of $75 upon registration. Balance of $200 is due before May 15th, 2010. You may pay your deposit or registration by credit card by phone, PayPal button (see below), or by check snail mailed to Mary Ann Cherry at the address at the end of this workshop listing.:
